Last Monday was my first visit to the noted Festival of Enigma in Oakmont, Dad, but it wo n't be the last. What a great event!
Each yr, the folks at Mystery Lovers Bookshop in Oakmont putted upward a virtual shop at a hallway in Oakmont, and invite a pot of secret authors to entertain the crowd. And I make intend crowd! People lined upwards outside the door for hrs to be among the first interior. Heck, there was even a crowd of authors-forty-two were there to subscribe and mouth and schmoose.
Now if that were n't plenty, there was a tea aheadly for the writers to see local bibliothecs, and a pizza party afterwards for the writers to Munch and relax.
The organisation was nighly unflawed, and shop proprietors Madonna Alice and Richard negociated to do each and every one of us experience welcome. Plus there was a platoon of shop employees and local Sises in Law-breaking members on mitt to assist out. It was simply terrific pat.
It was particularly special for me for two grounds. One, because I holded transcripts of Cuss of the Caressing Cousins hot off the insistences. And two, because I was sitting following to John Lamb , my girl Maggie 's really favorite secret writer. Okeh, peradventure I 'm her favorite, but it Holds reasonably darned finis.
Another kickshaw was seing fellow Berkley Prime Offense writer Mary Ellen Hughes , who provided these pictures of me and Madonna Ellen herself, so of me and Rosemary Harris with her up-to-the-minute book.
It was much of merriment. If you 're anyplace near Oakmont, label your calendar now for the Festival of Secret. With any destiny, I 'll be there waiting to encounter you.
