TIEFF is organise by the Taiwan Association of Visual Ethnography, a non-profit-making organisation given to greater public knowingness of documental and ethnographical pic, and co-organized by the Institute of Ethnology at the Academe Sinica of Taiwan. TIEFF is more a locus for testing flicks and videos; it is too a forum for pedagogy, treatment, and exchange. TIEFF views every movie chosen to be as valuable; thence, there is no competition subdivision in the event.

The biennial 's Fifth edition, `` Heart and soul '', will invite queer audience to a multicultural study of medical/alternative healing patterns. Possible topics that candidate films draw attention to can include, but are not limited to: Health care in the developing world / Indigenous, traditional, and alternative healing practices / Epidemics and infectious disease, suffering and care, etc. In creating the theme, the festival seeks stories and examples all around the world to cultivate common understanding of issues on physical and mental health beyond the confines of traditional medicines, in order to encompass heterogeneous, physical and spiritual practices which shape health care around the world.

We 're looking to screen flicks in the undermentioned classes:

A ) Heart and soul:
Ethnographical pic themed on medical/alternative healing of mental/physical maladies, produced at any clip.

Bacillus ) NEW VISION:
Ethnographical pic of any theme, finished within 2007-2009.
